 Having a healthy lifestyle is not about just going on a fad diet or booking into a gym to get fit. Being wealthy doesn’t always involve money, it can also mean that you have what you need and enjoy what you do. Learning new things will give you a wealth of knowledge and skills that you didn’t have before that you can pass on to others.  Having a healthy wealthy lifestyle is a state of mind and involves enjoying what you do and doing what you enjoy! You don’t have to make drastic changes in your life to have a healthy wealthy lifestyle, but if you do want to change and enjoy life then plan some small changes in what you do every day that will help you to enjoy life more.
A healthy  lifestyle  can be for every one, as we are all different so  we also need  to tailor our health and fitness programs to suit our specific needs . Women's health requirements are totally different than Men's health needs.Women also have other special health needs during pregnancy as their bodies go through rapid changes.  Children's health also has special considerations as their bodies are constantly growing and go through various changes , as they age their dietary, fitness and medical health requirements are also  constantly changing. As we age our dietary,fitness and medical health  needs also change.Elderly people need to stay healthy and fit to help them from getting illnesses and diseases. Having a healthy lifestyle as you age will go a long way towards fighting off diseases like diabetes,strokes ,heart attacks, arthritis and many other ailments associated with old age. We also need to look after our dental health as we need our teeth to be healthy to properly chew our food for good digestion.

If you want to lose a little weight there are many good weight loss programs to choose from  or you may wish to create your own healthy diet and exercise regime. Research foods that you enjoy and find ones that are also low cal and healthy and incorporate them into your daily meals. Take a salad sandwich to work one or two days a week instead of buying junk food.
Drink at least three glasses of water a day instead of coffee. If you really like your coffee or tea then just slowly cut down the amount of sugar you add over a couple of weeks and you will still enjoy it without the extra calories. Try drinking natural fruit juice instead of soft drink or buy a juicer and make your own blends of healthy juice from fresh fruit this will also make you feel better in yourself as you are creating something you like with ingredients you know don’t have added chemicals or sugars.

Getting more exercise will help you get healthy.
Try walking to work if you live close,or if you work in a high rise building then take the stairs instead of the elevator, don’t overdo things just take the elevator to the floor below your work and use the stairs from there.Once you get used to that then do two floors and build up over time. If you use a bus or public transport then plan on not taking the closest one, try walking to the one around the corner or in the next street. Leave the TV remote on top of the TV and get up to change channels. Better still find a hobby you enjoy and turn the TV off once in a while and do something creative that relaxes you and makes you feel like you achieved a goal.

  • Add fruit to your cereal, your salads or even your main meals.

  • Add more vegetables wherever you can--a tomato on your sandwich, capsicum on your pizza, or extra veggies in your pasta sauce. Keep pre-cut or canned/frozen veggies ready for quick snacks.
  • Avoid salad dressings made from high fat creams and oils instead look for alternatives that are low in fats
  • .Switching to skim milk or fat free yogurt is another simple way to eat less calories without having to change too much in your diet.
  •  Look through your cabinets or fridge and pick some of the foods you eat every day. Write down the nutritional content and, the next time you're at the shops, look for lower-fat ,lower sugar substitutes for just those.
    • Try some super foods to really get you off to a head start.

Foods to put on your shopping List

Vegetables and fruits should be the main items on your grocery list. They're rich in vitamins; minerals, fibre and antioxidants, and they are mostly low in calories. Choose a combination of green, orange, red, and yellow fruits and vegetables.

Try to purchase bread, pasta and cereal products that are made from whole grains, not from over refined flours. These whole grain foods will give your body important minerals, vitamins, and they are also good source of fiber, which is mostly lacking in modern diets. Read labels and find products with 100-percent whole grain or 100-percent whole wheat so you can be sure you are getting only whole grain products.
Your meat and protein foods should consist mainly of poultry, fresh fish, and lean meats. Eggs, seeds, nuts, and legumes are also great choices. Stay away from crumbed, deep-fried foods or oily coated foods that you put in the oven. These are mostly high in fat and sodium and are defiantly not healthy.
Keep your drinks simple. Water, low-fat milk, juices and herbal teas are all good healthy choices. If you choose soft drinks, try to get sugar-free juices and soft drinks.
Creating a healthy lifestyle doesn't have to mean drastic changes. In fact, drastic changes almost always lead to failure. Making small changes in how you live each day can lead to big rewards, so figure out what you can do for your self to be healthy today.


Gardening for health.

Growing your own fresh vegetables is a great way to start a healthy lifestyle.
 Do you enjoy eating fresh veggies and herbs? Then maybe start your own small garden it doesn’t have to involve digging up the lawn or making huge garden beds that you don’t have time to look after.
Start small ,buy a couple of potted herbs you enjoy and put them into a larger pot with good soil and place them on the kitchen
window sill so you have them available every time you cook your favorite meals.
You could also make a small wicking garden like these on your patio or porch or anywhere else that gets some sunlight. Involve the family maybe you husband or wife or children can help you .
